Meaning: The World is the twenty-first Tarot card. It is therefore associated with number 21. 21 symbolizes ultimate perfection (21=3 x 7). It is the number of maturity and responsibility, indicating that something has been completed.

From an astrological perspective, it is associated with the planet Saturn, which limits the development and expansion of things. It shapes things, it takes phenomena to their final synthesis, to their ultimate concretions and consequences. It is Chronos, the Lord of Time, who solidifies and stabilizes things. This card represents the final synthesis in any process, suggesting transcendence and the opening of a new beginning. On a spiritual plane, it indicates the enlightened state in which world constraints, the illusions of Maya, no longer limit the Self, which inhabits but has transcended the world and is no longer its slave.
