Meaning: The Hanged Man is the twelfth Tarot card. It is therefore associated with number 12. Twelve is the manifestation of the Trinity (Spirit) in the four corners of the horizon and in the four cabalistic worlds, conveying the idea of final realization, of a concrete conclusion.

From an astrological perspective, it is associated with the planet Neptune – which represents the Principle of Dissolution and has the experience to transcend the Self, to merge with the Totality – and with the Water element, which symbolizes wisdom, spiritual life, eternity, purity, fertility, deep emotions, unconditional Love. This Arcana represents unconditional love, selflessness, sacrifice. It refers to the process of abandoning illusory and artificial realities to focus on an impersonal love or collective cause. By relinquishing external power, the Hanged Man focuses on his inner world. He understands that answers must come from within, and that the journey entails sacrifice and loss.
