Prayer to Saint Boniface – Saint of Courage and Firmness

Courage and Firmness Prayer Saint Boniface
Prayer to Saint Boniface

When you lack courage, say this prayer to Stain Boniface.

Born in Credtion, the son of a wealthy family, it was against the will of his father that he devoted himself, at a very young age, to a monastic life.

Boniface’s heart was serene like that of his brother monks, but restless because of his missionary ardor. Thus, when presenting himself to the Pope he received his investiture as a missionary, a fact that changed his life and his name from Winfrid to Bonifacio, in memory of a great martyr. Once he was ordained as Bishop, Saint Boniface not only knew how to create the link of the newborn Christianity in Germany with Rome, but also to evangelize the four corners of his region, through many monasteries and dioceses that came to life thanks to him.

Docility and firmness, timidity and courage, prayer and action were present in him and in his productive postulate, which was not only in Germany, for after establishing a bishop’s seat, he left everything in the hands of another Bishop and went to evangelize the North of Europe. It happened that, on going to Dokkin on invitation, to celebrate the Chrism, St. Boniface and other Christians were attacked and killed by pagans in 754.

Prayer to Saint Boniface – We request courage and firmness

God our Father, watch over all those who have the mission to guide your holy and sinful people through the contradictions of our time. Enlighten the minds and hearts of our pastors: pope, bishops, priests, religious men and women, evangelists, consecrated persons, all the baptized called to witness the Gospel where they live. And let the words of Saint Boniface serve to guide us: Let us not be dumb dogs, let us not be silent sentinels, let us not be mercenaries fleeing the wolf, but diligent shepherds who watch over the flock of Christ, proclaiming God’s plan to the great and small, to the rich and the poor, to men of every condition and age, as long as God gives us strength, in season and out of season, as Saint Gregory wrote in his book to the pastors of the Church.

Intercede for us, Oh God, martyr Saint Boniface, so that we may faithfully keep and proclaim in our works the faith that you taught by your word and witnessed with your blood.

Saint Boniface, pray for us!
